Fairton School is a well-resourced rural Primary school on the outskirts of Ashburton. The school was originally opened in 1901, and since then has remained a focal point for the local Fairton community. We continue to develop strong connections between school, whanau and the community.
Class sizes are small and means staff to child ratios can be kept low. This enables us to develop excellent relationships with all our pupils, and to understand their needs as learners and individuals. We have 3 Teachers, a Teacher Aide and an Office Manager.
The staff here are committed to providing high-quality teaching and learning opportunities, and to ensuring the success and achievement of all individuals. Diversity is valued here, as are individual strengths. We are responsive to the needs of all our learners and provide programmes of support for those that need it, as well as extension when required.
Please come and visit if you are interested in our school. Livia our Office Manager will make an appointment and I will show you around our very special place.
Kind regards,
Jude Irwin
Principal

Good afternoon Parents and Caregivers,
I just wanted to clarify the details for Cross Country on Tuesday:
Children do not need to come to school before Cross Country; however, please let a staff member know your plans in advance.
The children were given their sports shirts today, and we were able to have a practice run this afternoon.
Here’s hoping for good weather on Tuesday!
Wishing you all a happy and safe long weekend.
Kind regards,
Sintiche Oates
Dear Parents & Caregivers
This is a friendly reminder that school will be closed on Monday 27th April in observance of ANZAC Day.
Our school Cross Country event will be held on Tuesday 28th April at Chertsey School.
If you are planning to take your child directly to the event and we do not know already, please let the school know. If you are taking your child home from Cross Country, you must tell the classroom teacher at the event, and be crossed off the list.
We also ask that you inform the teacher if your child requires a booster seat, so we can ensure appropriate transport arrangements are in place.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to a great day.
Kind regards
Livia

We also require help with transport to and from Chertsey School. If you can help, please let me know.
Thanks
Kind regards
