Fairton School is a well-resourced rural Primary school on the outskirts of Ashburton. The school was originally opened in 1901, and since then has remained a focal point for the local Fairton community. We continue to develop strong connections between school, whanau and the community.
Class sizes are small and means staff to child ratios can be kept low. This enables us to develop excellent relationships with all our pupils, and to understand their needs as learners and individuals. We have 3 Teachers, a Teacher Aide and an Office Manager.
The staff here are committed to providing high-quality teaching and learning opportunities, and to ensuring the success and achievement of all individuals. Diversity is valued here, as are individual strengths. We are responsive to the needs of all our learners and provide programmes of support for those that need it, as well as extension when required.
Please come and visit if you are interested in our school. Livia our Office Manager will make an appointment and I will show you around our very special place.
Kind regards,
Jude Irwin
Principal

Dear Parents
Just one last reminder before we head off to Staveley tomorrow. The weather forecast is looking sunny but very cold so please make sure your child has extra warm layers, a good jacket, beanie, gloves and even an extra pair of socks.
Please also ensure you child has a drink bottle and a big healthy packed lunch.
Kai for Kids will provide a packed lunch only for the Kai for Kids children.
We look forward to a fun day out.
Dear Parents,
We had outstanding attendance last term at 94%. This was a really good result for one of our cold terms. Keep up the good work!
Kind regards,
Jude

🎉 100 Days of School Celebration! 🎉
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are excited to celebrate 100 Days of School on Thursday, 30th July!
To make the day extra special, we’re inviting all students to join in the fun by dressing up as a 100-year-old! Think grey hair, glasses, walking sticks, cardigans, slippers, pearls, suspenders, or anything that gives a playful “grandparent” look. The more creative, the better!
✨ Dress-Up Theme: 100-Year-Olds / Old People
📅 Date: Thursday, 30th July
We can’t wait to see everyone’s imaginative costumes as we celebrate reaching this exciting milestone together. It’s going to be a day full of laughter, learning, and fun activities to mark 100 days of growing, learning, and achieving!
Please ensure costumes are:
· Comfortable and safe for a full day at school.
· Suitable for active play and learning.
So, raid the dress-up box, borrow a cardigan, add a splash of baby powder for “grey hair,” and let your imagination run wild!
We look forward to celebrating with all our amazing students!
Thank you for your support!
